Sea of Galilee

What is it: The Sea of Galilee is a lake in north-eastern Israel. It is famous for being the site of many of the miracles performed by Jesus: the walking on water, calming of the storm, the huge catch of fish, and the feeding of the five thousand.
What's it like: It's a big tourist destination for both locals and visitors - you can go cycling, sailing, walking and many other activities.
Where: Israel
When: June 2018
How: I was with a tour group and a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee was included. As part of the week-long tour I also visited Beit She'an, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Dome of the Rock. The Dead Sea was on offer although I didn't go there. I highly, highly recommend the whole trip - it was brilliant.
Worth noting: Make sure you have the local lunch of St Peter's Fish while you're there - see below.
Place in the 2015 edition: 443
Did it deserve to lose its place in the 2020 top 500: No, and I'm very sad about it.
